To fix a door handle that is sagging it is necessary to locate the detent access hole or pin, which is usually a small rectangle or round shaped hole or protruding pin situated on one side of the handle base plate. Once you have located it, loosen the set screw using the help of a screwdriver, and then take it off to allow the lever, allowing it to return to the horizontal position.

Drooping lever door handles could be the result of many factors. The most common reason is that the fixings are over tightened, and are putting pressure on the bearings that are causing it to bind against the door's face. It could also be because the levers aren't operated in a straight line and this is compressing the latch mechanism preventing it from fully springing back into operation.

The most common reason for spring levers that are not functioning properly is that the spring is not being in the correct position on the backplate. The easiest way to test this is to turn the handle and see whether it changes to its horizontal position.
